A native consumer app built for platform feel
A consumer brand whose cross-platform app was bleeding ratings got fully native iOS and Android apps — SwiftUI and Jetpack Compose — with live order tracking that feels like the platform it runs on.

The challenge
A delivery brand’s first-generation app — built quickly on an aging cross-platform framework — was hurting the business it was supposed to grow. Reviews complained about sluggish scrolling and battery drain, live order tracking stuttered, and every OS release broke something. For a consumer product competing on experience, the app was the brand, and the brand felt cheap.
Our approach
After auditing the existing app, we recommended the harder-but-honest path: full native rebuilds. The product leaned exactly on what native does best — smooth maps, real-time updates, background location, and platform-perfect interactions.
- SwiftUI on iOS and Jetpack Compose on Android, sharing a design system and API contract so the two apps stayed siblings, not strangers.
- Live order tracking built on efficient background location and push updates, tuned to sip battery instead of draining it.
- A Go backend replacing the old API layer, cutting response times and simplifying the real-time delivery feed.
- CI/CD with staged rollouts on both stores, so releases became a Tuesday habit instead of a quarterly event.
The old app kept running until feature parity was proven, then users migrated seamlessly with a forced-upgrade window.
The outcome
The relaunched apps start fast, scroll at full frame rate, and track orders in real time without the jank that defined the old experience. Store ratings recovered within weeks of relaunch, and OS updates stopped being emergencies — the apps now adopt new platform features the week they ship.
